Default Thank you Blizzak

With the small amount of snow fall we saw this week up here in MN, I was forced to take off my rims and throw a used set of winter/snow tires on my stock rims. I ended up with a set of second hand Blizzak WS60's for cheap with plenty of tread left on all tires. While I was on my way to my brother's house to swap the wheels, the tires I had on my "special" rims were absolutely horrible and at times, almost impossible to get going up a hill. These winter/snow tires transformed my car and now drives better than my wife's front wheel drive Passat in the snow. So are winter/snow tires necessary on these vehicles? Compared to what I had on my car and experienced, I would definitly say yes. I was one to fear driving a rear wheel drive in the snow but now that I have these tires, I think I can make it through this winter. That is all.

I loved my snow tires on my 94 Fleetwood, 4700 lbs and snow tires and posi, 260 hp/335 lb-ft torque is just about unstoppable in the snow.

Highly recommended.

Default snow

I have Michelin snows that work quite good. Gotta have snows with this car. My wife says she likes driving in fresh snow. One day I'm gonna switch VSC to 'off' while she's driving LOL.

I always use snow tires on my winter car. Its a Day and Night comparison between snow and all season tires.

Here is a little vid I like to show to display the difference in tire types. Can be watched from 30 seconds time mark (I am not promoting any product or the website that created the particular video)

i live in Alaska and i also drive my gs300 in the winter... i have studded tires and they work great! With the Snow control it works awesome, tho i was nervous at first driving a RWD car. With the VSC off its pretty dangerous but with a little common sense its no issue.

My VSC/ABS is non-functional as the sensors were damaged and I never got around to fixing it. Made it through two winters with worn out all-seasons without an issue. I might go with snow tires this year, but my point is to use common sense (brake appropriately, don't speed, don't be reckless) and you won't have too much of an issue. The thing that worries me about driving in the snow is the other drivers on the road. Nobody likes to pay attention to where they're going and they all seem to forget that they're behind the wheel.

Yeah, but we get a few months where drifting is easy and a ball to practice!
