Beautiful looking vehicle. I prefer cars.com as it's organized. Autotrader is too cluttered for my liking.

"Best Color Combo"?

Nothing looks better than a Black on Black GS. After that you've got that rare blue exterior with black interior. I'd even take the Burgundy on Black.

I don't know. 50,000 miles on a 10 year old car doesn't impress me. That's only 5,000 miles a year. Tells me the car has had many short trips/bursts. The starter, electronics/window switches/door lock actuators can wear even faster than on a car with twice the mileage but with mostly highway miles. Fluids and other things still have to be changed because of age. Sounds like a big maintenance headache all at once if you ask me.

Another thing you gotta remember, some banks/credit unions won't finance a car over 7 years old no matter how little miles. Folks looking to buy a GS are folks that are specifically looking for a GS and knows what Lexus is all about. Mileage means very little to them on a car that they know is proven to run 300K miles plus easily. No one will pay $16,000 + for the same car they can get in a better color combo for $10,000. Of course more miles, but then again, mileage is irrelevant. Actually many folks look for cars with 100K miles and up because the previous owner most likely has replaced most of the wear items that fall between 75K-100K miles (ball joints, control arms, shocks, door lock actuators etc) which can be a huge bill.

^ pretty much sums it up!

KBB is the worst place to get advice

If you want to know what your car is really worth here you go:

Dealer trade in:
-$10k (this is with low mileage allowance)
*if you had avg miles the car would be worth 7k or less
-$12k private party retail asking price.

GLWS!

IS very fair for the year and mileage you got.. Good luck!
I own a car dealership, im with this guy.

16,500 is fair... personally I think most people wouldn't pay over $13k for a 10 year old car with low miles, but if you aren't in a hurry to sell her you can probably get 16,500. Good luck. List it here on CL and your local Craigslist.

I love this forum. The volume of feedback today has been fantastic. As enthusiasts we all love cars and all have our favorite options and color combos. This car seems to have an intense following and after owning mine, I understand why.

50k is practically a new car, for a Lexus that is. Any other brand, I wouldn't say that. It's just such a shame that the 2GS's value has dropped so much. I say put it up on CL and see what happens. Take your time, and you will find the right buyer. I wouldn't go less than 16.5k, so I wouldn't start there. Give yourself some wiggle room.

Beautiful, beautiful car. 16K? Yes, but as others have said, you'll need patience to find the right buyer.

I have no idea if this gives any reference, but FYI, I'm brand new here, but just posted my bone stock 1999 GS 300 here in the silver thread. I paid $9,300 gladly since it's got 46K. Way over what research said I should pay, but the right car makes all estimates fly out the window.

Being a 430, great color, ML/Nav equipped. . . MINT, super low miles. . . someone will recognize how nicely that all ads up.

Thank you sofaman. I think you are hitting the nail on the head. Congrats, by the way, on the awesome find with only 46k! Nice!!

I would let this car go keep it in the family maybe some responsible niece or nephew heading to college... The low mileage will get a lot of attention but I have a feeling you'll get a lot of low ball offers sad but true.
