What position was your trans power switch at then and nowf?

Hello again everybody. I have purchased a brand new original MAF sensor, and have spent the earlier part of today replacing this sensor and cleaning my throttle body. I also disconnected both battery cables while I was working on the car - about 4 hours, to have the computer reset itself.

Replacing the MAF was very easy, and the throttle body was pretty involved, but I managed to get it removed and properly cleaned. It wasn't very dirty to much of my surprise - I sprayed some rags with carb cleaner, thoroughly wiped it, and it was good to go.

Now the cars seems to idle a bit smoother than before, but overall I do not notice any change in performance. It still feels much slower off the line than it was when I first bought it. The ECT switch does not seem to affect performance at all.

try changing the fuel filter. maybe it's clogged. get a proper tune up if you havent gotten one yet.

I also seem to be having a similar issue as John2GS430. I had a regular tune-up at a Toyota dealership about 10 months ago. Last week my check engine light came on with both VSC lights coming on. Pulled the code P0306. The dealership found that a mouse had built a nest next to the spark plug. Replaced the plug and cleaned the wire. Engine runs fine, but the RPM's were hitting 2500 when doing 40 MPH, that seemed a little high. The transmission didn't downshift until 45ish. I had a different shop look at the ECU. They said the tranny fluid was a too dark and did a full flush. The shifting is a little smoother, but the ECT/Snow function no longer works. I've been reading on some of the forums that to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins, would this work? Would I get the ECT/Snow functionality back?

Check fuses first.

Did. This loss of power begin immediately after you had the timing belt done

Sam12345: I haven't had the timing belt changed or checked within the last year, but it is on my list.

Update: I checked the fuses, nothing is blown. I knuckled down and did the timing belt. This was the best solution since the shop told me that both the timing belt and V belt were both factory (and I have 125k miles). The car runs amazingly!
