Well thank you for taking that crap out of your car and doing it right. I'm sure the general public will appreciate being able to see properly at night when they are anywhere near you now. Good luck with the retro!

Now if only the Brodozer crowd would catch on and stop driving around with the same ****...

My luxurymods brackets came in yesterday so I decided to pull the headlights out today.

After reading up on putting the headlights in the oven I was still pretty skeptical about doing it but I built up the nerve to do it and it turned out good.

The first headlight took the longest because I was trying to take my time and the glue ended up getting back hard again. I ended up putting it back in the oven for 5 more minutes. The brackets are well designed but it looks like I'm going to have to modify them a little to keep the projectors bi-xenon. I'll try to update again tomorrow if I get the screws I need.

I assumed you picked up the LS430 brackets. Some tips...

You're going to have to cut a 1/4" into the bracket opening so the projector sits lower to center it vertically. You'll also have to trim the rear of the turn signals so it contours to the projectors. I don't remember if you will have to enlarge the headlight bezel opening.

So today I had to do a little modifying to the brackets. The top right hole shown in the picture below had a small opening and wouldn't take the clip. A little dremel action and a file did the trick.

In order to keep the solenoid attached to the projectors I had to cut out a section from the bracket.

It turned out pretty good.

I also took the projectors to ACE Hardware today and had the holes that the brackets attach to tapped to 8-32 because I couldn't find a screw that would match with the ones that was in there.

Tomorrow I'll mount the projectors in the housing and trim the bezel.

For others reading these retro threads as I've mentioned previously all the Luxury Mods brackets for the 2GS where designed off the Auto-Leveling HID Housings. The Auto-Leveling motor pushes on a seat insert where as the Non-Auto-Leveling Non-HID Housings have a little ball socket that snaps in a different sized insert.

The motor seat insert is a slightly smaller hole than the ball socket seat, and this is why the filing/enlarging of that one hole is required. So to anyone else that is retroing Non-Hid housings just be prepared you will need to do the same.
