Has anyone ever mated the factory GS trans to a ls1?? I just picked up a complete 4.8 for $200 so I'm looking to see how hard it would be to mate it with the factory trans. I'm not trying to go fast. Just needed a replacement engine for my car so the stock trans will do just fine

It would probably be cheaper and easier pick up a GM 4l60E transmission than to try to mate an LS motor and Lexus trans. Lots of people sell their 4l60E in the LS community to upgrade to a 4l80E to handle more power, so you should be able to pick one up for $500-700.

I actually have access to a couple of th350 trans that I can probably have for $100 with coverter. I just prefer not to get into making a trans mount and driveshaft but it looks like that's what I'll have to do

Had anyone looked into using this Canton Racing front sump pan in a GS300 swap? P/N 15-276. Guess people are using them for 240sx swaps.

Looks like the sump is 6 3/4" long if I am understand it correctly and the info is correct off http://www.enjukuracing.com.

Yes Canton 15-276 will work just fine. Must use the GTO oil pick up.

This is great news. I just so happen to have a GTO dropout. I also like the idea of having the extra oil capacity.

Has anyone tried any off the shelf long tube headers that will fit with this swap?

No, headers are an absolute nightmare to fit, it's very snug in there.

BTW, mine has been running and driving all year with a built auto, it's a blast. The auto is MUCH bigger than the manual trans, but fitting it in there I actually didn't need to modify the GTO oil pan. It sits almost perfectly on the crossmember. Engine is a little high and forward from the manual swap, but still fits under the hood. Not sure if I can find room to run piping for twin turbos, I may just go big inch NA, nasty heads and a cam.

Love this swap, everyone should do it.

Sorry, since I built it I've been busy as hell all year, so you only get a burnout vid. Right now I'm tearing it down again to finish everything, and probably throw some more power in it. Only logged back on to look up Mikes info on the brake booster swap.

It was built CA street legal, but I moved out of CA, so... hahahahahaha. If you are building one and need all the smog parts or a GTO oil pan, hit me up!

It's a mess under the hood now, and before I had wires everywhere to get everything working, so I don't want to show that off. I'll give ya this to prove it though.

4l60E, Stage 2 from Performabuilt with a 2800 stall converter. Motor is from an 04 GTO, figured I'd do the swap cheap to start (AHHAHAHAHHAHAHA NOT.... Stuff adds up fast when you only use good / new parts) then put in a bigger cube LS down the line.
