You're correct. on the SC its the crossmember needs to be modified. GS and IS are the only two that need the oil pan modded.

here is an SC showing the oil pan clearance

as for the entire swap, there are so many variables. Depends what you want, that will change the total price.

The stock brake booster has its own control unit on 01-05 GS. It's not part of the factory engine ecu and is on a completely separate harness. Meaning, when you remove the engine and harness. The Brake booster is UNTOUCHED.
Yeah, I'm looking at the wiring diagram for ABS/TRC/VSC ECU and it is connected to ECU via 5 wires pg 177 of FSM.

Is your traction still working?

well i know alot of the other vehicles people desire that pan as its thin and will clear most of everything. it will bolt right up, ? is will it fit and work with our subframe

one of my local mechanics has a rear wheel drive civic with complete corvetter interior (including dash) motor and a procharger supercharger. google civette for info or youtube him (if u see pics/video of the car and its black they OLD, its since been painted orange/silver and now has the procharger setup and two 250 shots on it. scarriest car i ever rode in once it gets traction

he also has a WRX with a ls(x) and a 240sx with a ls(x)

anyways,i think he used that pan i suggested in one of them and notched the other 2 to fit the OEM pan. what about like a moroso or something else that would be a slimmer but wider pan like sikky makes for the 240sx crowds swap?

for cost reasons i may end up doing this as a automatic at first and build the motor then come back and switch it to a manual....would i use the same tranny mount

(already thinking about the possibility of a automatic turbo ls, less boost pressure lost with a auto) i can see it now a turboed LS with a powerglide BWAHAHAA that would suck for a daily but seriously i may start this out with a auto to keep cost down who knows. i gotta call that guy you recommended me to monday

I followed the civette build on Honda-Tech a few years ago. You are in good hands with him around!

The auto 4L60 / 4L65 and I think the 4L80 as well. They sit back about 3-4 inches further to the rear than the T-56. So IF you use the T-56 trans bracket, you will need an adapter to reach the trans mount.

dude, auto LSx turbo or S/C would be a rocket ship!!!!

ABS works. I didn't wire traction control. I have no need for it.

yeah he's crazy....

so of the three of those tranny's which is the best (most reliable also is a concern) and could an adapter be made reasonably?

The GTO i believe has the 4L65. I am not too knowledgeable about the automatic transmissions. I would check the Camaro/Firebird/GTO forums and read up on them.

No need for an adapter. You get an auto trans that came off an LS. Or find a complete engine package that already has the trans.

I never looked into wiring traction control. I have never used it and almost every car i owned, I disabled it permanently.

if you wanted, I am sure it can be done.

The 4L80 would be the auto you would want to use with a turbo LSx engine. This is a good thread, I'm looking into a 5.3L truck engine LS swap with a turbo into some kind of Lexus at the moment. The GS and LS are better options at the moment due to under hood space and stronger rear ends that bolt up with LSD options.

I'll post up some of my build pics and info when I get my trans back in the car. I was running the stock converter - it ballooned and took out the pump. I'm loving it though! SC's are awesome LSx candidates!
