Default High RPM's after cleaning throttle

Day 1: Had transmission flushed. CEL came on after.
Code read P0763 Transmission stuck in 4th gear. Probable cause failed shift control solenoid. Drove few days CEL went on, off, on off.

Day 4: While driving car stalled but not turn off. VSC, VSC OFF & CEL came on. Restarted the car and ran fine while all lights still on.

Autozone gave me code: P1120 Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Circuit Probable cause Failed APP sensor.
: P0763 Transmission stuck in 4th gear. Probable cause failed shift control solenoid.

Day 5: Started car, ran fine to work, no lights. On the way home, all previous lights came on, no acceleration, put pedal to the floor and cruised up to 60mph on highway.

Day 6: Same as day 5

Day 7: Performed Fuel Injection Service (cleaned throttle, vaccumed fluid to fueld injectors and fluid in fuel tank) All lights went off, car ran great, great acceleration.

Day 8-9: Great

Day 10: All 3 lights back on, no acceleration, put pedal to the floor to get home.

Sprayed CRC Throttle Cleaner again, just to make sure I got everything. Put it back together and started. RPM's going up and down non stop from 1000 up to 2500. Shut engine off, restarted RPM's jumped to 4000 and held there non stop, shifted gears, rpms came down shut engine off. disconnected battery for 15 min. Started engine and did the same crazy high rpms. Shut engine off pulled off ECU fuse for 30 secs. Started engine and same crazy high rpms.

Now what do I do?

That CRC stuff from autozone messed up and gave me 10 CEL codes. I would seriously advise against using that stuff. It gives me high Rpms but not that high. Maybe like 1800. Sorry to hear man

Sounds like the throttle position sensor needs to be adjusted.

DOnt touch that sensor, it will set it self back to normal after a while, i did that same thing i had really high idle, and then after a few days it leveled off, adjusting the throttle position sensor can make things worse

Why would the TPS spontaneously go bad, then correct itself?

When cleaning throttle body never spray any cleaner directly into the throttle body. Spray onto a rag and wipe down the inside area. Spraying directly causes damage to the tps! Sounds like your throttle body was acting up before you did the cleaning. I rec. you try what tom suggested as you have nothing to loose because the sensor might be damaged already

I've seen soo many threads about this as I did warned to others. It's not wise to spray those cleaner directly into the throttle body/throttle plate ESPECIALLY Drive by Wire vehicles. I personally clean it with a dry rag and try not to clean the throttle plate with force. GL to your case.

ok, thanks everybody, but i didnt get to check everybody's post until this morning. Last night I removed the ETCS for 5min and i took the TPS off and put it back on. Started car and the idle came down to about 1200-1500 rpms, instead of 4000, but still not driveable. This morning I started again and it stayed at 1200-1500, again still not driveable. But now I don't know if it was the removal of the ETCS fuse or the TPS that brought the idle down.

Also, I don't understand how the cleaner can damage the TPS if its not in direct contact other than the butterfly valve pin/rod.

Well, I had the car towed to a trusted mechanic but they want to replace the entire TB for 1100 part only. But they said they will not be able to reprogram the PCM after doing so.

Do you guys think its necessary to reprogram the PCM after replacing either the TB, TPS, APS or Throttle Control Motor?

update? what kind of GS do you have (drive-by wire)?

I just cleaned my TB and MAF with both CRC products but have yet to start it up as I'm waiting on a spark plug boot.

I ended up removing the TB to clean it.

@deejay:

I'm assuming its "drive by cable" since it does have a cable from the pedal to the accelerator.
