Will 01+ intrument clusters fit into a 98-00

Will 01+ intrument clusters fit into a 98-00
I know about the tach issue when switching across models but would a cluster from a 2001 GS300 fit directly into a 98-00 GS300?

AFAIK you can use 01+ clusters in 98-00 cars.

fit yes, work no, u will get fault codes for airbag as the 01-05 went to a 2 stage. for whatever reason, it registers in the instrument cluster. =/
