Default Painting door pillars?

whats up guys I have been meaning to ask this for a while now... anyway I purchased the car and only like a week later I realized the pillars weren't painted. I recall the owner saying that he got new doors when his wife hit a hydrant on the driver's side.

so the passenger side looks nice and glossy but the driver side looks dull. I want to get it done before I get rain visors from Nigel. How do you guys think I can resolve this?

id recommend you sand them down and refinish them in a satin or matte black to keep that stock appearance

I have mine wrapped in 3m carbon fiber from left over material when I did my roof, rear lip, and front lower grill. If you do this and add the rain visor it will cover the top part anyways, I am hoping to do the same when I find a deal on the visor, will post pics tomorrow

It looks like it might be painted? Maybe it just needs a good buffing.

The stock pillars are 202 onyx black (gloss black no clear)... they are not satin or matte.

Try buffing them. If it's the factory paint, use a finishing pad with a mild or super finishing polish. The factory paint is extremely soft and sticky so either use a DA polisher or a rotary on the lowest speed possible.

a good buffing more than likely will do the job. Hard to judge though whats on there without feeling it. My moms car had her pillars all nasty, dull and looked like that, i took a high speed to them with regular wax and they came out looking brand new

Im not sure what to think.... At all... He said that the doors were replaced so im thinking they weren't painted at all.... It doesnt look faded away because the other one does not look anything like that.
