Tone Ring worn in left rear on 02 GS300
Has anyone ever had to replace the tone ring in the rear axles. My VSC lights came on and hooked up the scanner to find out the ABS sensor in the left rear was giving the error code. I pulled the sensor and found out the whole head of the sensor was grinding against the tone ring and wore the head off the sensor and also wore down the teeth on the ring. Can I get a new ring and replace it or do I need the whole new axle?

Your gear ring looks fine. Was the car ever in an accident?
It looks like your abs sensor failed, and the middle part of it sunk down. Either way you need new abs sensors so get those, install them and just spin your front wheel while the car is jacked up but spin it slightly then see if you hear it grazing and if so, stop.
go to sewellpartsonline.com and choose your car/year make model and you can drill down using the left hand menu.
