Dear Lexus Experts,

I would love to hear your opinion on my system. I originally got my system installed at Stereotomy in Issaquah, WA and from the way they installed my system...i thought they did a fantastic job but i am not loving the way my system sounds. Below are pictures from my system and i want to hear everyones opinion since ive see people have custom trunks done on there GS.

If you look at my last two pictures, where the deck lid is.....when the bass comes out through that port....its causing my trunk lid/back windshield to vibrate and rattle. Now, ive had systems before and i know a little rattling is expected...but if u sit INSIDE MY CAR, and could hear the rattling quite frequently, It should not happened. Am i right? I took the car back to Stereotomy, and they bolted the trunk lid down and secured it better but it still rattles. Is it because the "PORT" isnt big enough for that much bass to transport through? Should i re do the box? Should i re position my 2 subs and have it firing up rather have the two subs face the plexiglass? Should i make 2 more ports on each side so more air will go through my trunk lid rather where that black port is at? I feel like there is way too much pressure coming through one port and maybe thats why its causing it to rattle. ANNNNY IDEA WILL HELP.

FYI - I dynamted my whole trunk, inside my car on the door panels. I DID NOT dynmate the roof but i might even do that just to make it sound cleaner.

Moving on, EVEN IF YOU FIGURE OUT A WAY TO MAKE THE RATTLING STOP.....the way my box is set up right now......i dont really hear clean bass. I mean yes, the bass sounds reallly loud BUT it doesnt produce that clean and rich bass i am looking for. Its hard to explain when im typing it but i want crisp bass well as loud bass. RIght now its just loud bass.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!! I WANT TO RE DO THE BOX Similar to a way another lexus user have done it on this forum. (I think it looks awesome) <br>

That setup looks sick. It sucks your not fully satisfied with it. That L logo is sweet. I would just make a couple more ports.

One Problem is thats a bandpass enclosure and its very difficult to get tight accurate bass with especially if you listen to a wide variety of music.

ty for the compliment....that first setup is dead and gone. the lousy shop built the box and tuned it to 42hz, well RE recommends 32 hz so the box fried the sub and the wood they used to build it 1/2" mdf broke due to the weight of the sub. so i redid it myself, had a box built by fatboxusa.com and installed everything how i wanted it...with suede also. only issue now is the sub amp acts like its in lockout mode and using 2 different bitwriters and 3 different cables it wont recognize the writer and we have no control on the gains so its putting out kind of half power. its now been removed and sent back to be repaired....


as we been talking per PM's i know u said you dynamatted the trunk what about the actual deck lid? i did the top AND bottom of my deck lid and have ZERO rattles. you could also weld in some braces underneath the deck lid to stiffen it up if you want but i think this maybe a little extreme...do you have a pic of the port without the cover on it? how big is the port? your trunk setup looks great man. what did they cover the trunk pieces with? i might be concerned with the amps getting to hot under that plexi BTW if their isn't adequate airflow or if they dont have some fans under there. that L really does look great so does the whole setup
