Default Pics of another infinite baffle setup

So only a few pics, but this is my new setup. I went without bass for a couple months after changing my headunit and was too lazy to put this in. I know it isn't ideal but I had a 10" rockford fosgate power hx2 laying around and thought "why not use it". The reason for the thread is to help others who may be wondering what's the largest sub the deck can support. I really hesitated to do this because it weighs 35 pounds

I found a thread where a guy used an elemental designs 25 pound sub (13") that said it was fine. Someone else said 45 was too much and I saw a guy that said his 36 pound Fi IB3 12' was at the limit.

I'll agree, I have no bracing or anything else an about 35 is the limit, probably closer to 30. I'll update later if I notice any adverse effects like cracks in the sheetmetal, but so far so good. I know it isn't pretty, but I don't really care. I have bass again.

It's not bad, but I can't really judge it yet because my lower seat cushion isn't in the car yet so the sealing is as worse as it can get. Waiting on my seat clip from sewell. The qts wasn't high, but the vas, xmax, and fs are decent. I only used it because of the strong motor and suspension. I know this is supposed to be a boomy speaker so free air should smooth it out some.

It looks worse because I had to remove some fabric to get to the bolt holes since hardware stores evidently don't like selling 2.5 inch M6 machine screws.

^^^^^ I don't think you'll have enough room, you might be able to squeeze it in. I have a 10 and my baffle right up against the torsion bars. How much will your sub weigh?

Yea, I'm not a basshead, I'm cheap though. The sub and amp cost me $75 combined. Just needed a sub because I was loosing the stock amp with the aftermarket radio.

you'll probably run out of room if you want to mount your baffle to the stock holes in the deck. The sub may cover those holes. I made my baffle so I can remove my sub from the trunk now. It sucked having to remove the seats and interior panels. Not to mention the fact that your c-pillar panels will probably crack like mine did. I had replacements ready though since I cracked one on the 1st attempt.

I will be cutting and grinding those mount and do some kind of sandwich... I'll also try to add some structural integrity there.

Figured I'll bump this thread. I just ordered my free air sub. I bought the 10" Infiniti kappa 100.9w which had great specs. I plan on running this with the alpine 500w mono amp. I bought it for free air, but the more I'm thinking about it, I may just buy a sealed enclosure and have the box and amp mounted on the shelf. Really don't want to go through the process of removing seats and etc....if I need to change sub in the future.

Watch the weight of your sub and box. I ended up replacing that sub with a lighter kenwood 10. The HX2 was too heavy (around 35 pounds) for the deck and was causing it to flex and make noise on the freeway. I think it would have been fine for normal street driving, but I had a daily freeway commute at the time.
