Default Swap Help Australia Gs300

Hello All,

I am getting a 2000 Gs300 shortly God willing. In Australia we only have the gs300 for second gen. As most people swap or buy an Aristo twin turbo i want to go a different route. I want to add a gs v8 in it. Now my first questions are will the 4.0 and 4.3 fit in w.o any problems? With wiring etc.. is one easier and more logical than the other? what parts do i need besides engine, tranny, ecu, and wiring? I would appreciate your input before i buy a motor and have it installed. thanks in advance!

with petrol prices in oz, why would you even consider a v8?

go 1jz or 2jz... it has more power potential than the 1uz or 3uz...

In Australia it would be almost impossible to register a GS300 with an LS motor, as it did not come as a genuine Lexus option.

However Lexus did obviously release a second generation GS400 and GS430.

I also believe that the suspension and brake setup is identical to the GS300 - please correct me if I am incorrect.

So it should be reasonably straightforward ?? Any suggestions welcomed please.

I was. considering doing a 430 swap since (and I know it's going to sound stupid) to me it suits the color combo I've got (black/tan). the GTE swap is super tempting but I've got other things to look after at the moment (according to the wife the family comes before my cars apparently lol)

BTW it sucks that Toyta/Lexus never offered the 400/430, I think a lot more people would've bought one instead of going the E430/540i.
