Door Lock Actuator Cable Broken?
#18
Can someone post the pic again? The pic isnt showing anymore and i need this D:!!!! My door clip broke and so did my rod. I fixed that and right when I was about to get back into putting my door panel after being so angry trying to figure out how to take off the panel with the door closed b/c i could not open it inside or out I picked up the inside door handle and one of the cables was not latched on to the actuator and both plastic things that hold it in place were split in half for both ends

Same thing happened to mine when I did my actuators! Same side and breakage... Used your idea :-) and I worked like a charm. I'll post a picture of the heat shrink I used if you'd like. Easy fix less than $5

It held up really well on mine! If you wanna go a step further you could slightly sand paper the broken ends, apply glue to them, wait 5 minutes and heat shrink'em it really works. And yeah make sure the cable is as straight as possible to reduce friction than could weaken the heat shrink in the near future.

So I found a cable from the junkyard for less than 10 bucks lol and replaced it... It still doesn't work. I think it's the door actuator itself for me because I fixed my exterior handle's rod and it opens but the interior door handle doesn't open the door. Any idea if it is the actuator itself? Or am I doing something wrong

Hmm see the thing is it wouldn't open inside nor out. But then I fixed the rod connection to the exterior and then the interior door handle cable was replaced and reconnected. What am I doing wrong? i hooked on the cable onto the handle and the other end onto the thing that goes to the actuator basing it off pictures I've seen of it installed. Does anyone have a better picture to show me how its supposed to look like if it was working fine and how exactly its supposed to move?
