Default Cig Lighter Fuse

I woke up today and tried to start the car, but the battery was completely dead. I used the cig lighter the day before with a new iPhone charger, which I think may have short circuited the car. I think it's draining the car battery still, so would it be OK to remove that fuse from the fusebox to stop power from going to cig lighter?

Yes, It should be fine. I do not believe this fuse shared with any other components.

removing the fuse wont hurt anything, why not just remove the charger?

I'm pretty sure your cigarette lighter has nothing to do with the car not starting.

Mine blowed, but it did not affect the car starting. It only shut down the cig adapter

If something shorted the cigarette socket it could drain the battery. As everyone has said it is more then likely a coincidence that the car did not start after using the phone charger but checking it by removing the fuse is free and easy.

Do you possibly have anything that is hardwired right to a power source? Maybe a GPS or radar?

Didn't do anything to the fuse, and now seems to be fine, no battery draining. Strange, but thanks for the feedback!
