Default FINALLY made a decision and ordered some wheels (tire question inside)

Shout out to forum vendor B2Auto (www.b2autodesigns.com) for the great deal on the wheels, and vendor TeamSNS (www.speednstyles.com) for the insane deal on megan ez coilovers. Went with MRR HR3's in

20x8.5 +35 Front

20x9.5 +40 Rear

should be arriving in a few days.

What size tires should I run? I'd like whatever is going to provide the most protection possible:

I've seen two setups on this forum:

option 1: FRONT:245/35/20 and REAR:275/30/20

option 2: FRONT:235/35/20 and REAR: 255/35/20

Any reason I can't run 245/35/20 front and 255/35/20 rear or would that be mismatched?

The ideal tire size for your wheels is 245/35 and 275/30. You can mix and match as you please, but just try to make sure that your rolling diameter is close to the same.

Ah ok, didn't realize that the rolling diameter had to match as best as possible.

In the following scenarios then.....

FRONT:245/35/20 and REAR:275/30/20

= Rolling diameter difference of .26, taller diameter in the front

FRONT:245/35/20 and REAR: 255/35/20

= Rolling diameter difference of .27, taller diameter in the rear

Is it better to have the bigger diameter on the front tires or the rears? or is it negligable.

I don't doubt your suggestion of 245/35 + 275/30 being the ideal size, just trying to understand why.

Thanks

If they are close then is shouldn't matter. But you ideally want as much traction in the rears as possible.

actually, now that i look at it.... 235/35/20 front, 275/30/20 rear, judging by that chart above, is going to give the closest fitment all the way around:

Overall Diameter: 26.47 in 672.33 mm
Overall Diameter: 26.49 in 672.84 mm

B2 auto designs said that people dont' run 9.5's all around due to brake fitment issues?

Why not 225/35s for the front and 245/35s for the rear? I had 245/35s in the front before and chewed up my fender lol
