Default 2001 GS300 non-nav: aftermarket replacement

I want a NAV unit in my car, but from my extensive searching of this forum the word on the street is not to go original LEXUS but to fit an aftermarket unit with the works.

What would the good folk on this forum recommend? I would like to try and keep a stock NAV look if possible.

Pics if possible.

Cheers, Dave

+1 on what he said and if you're interested in being "like" stock but with after market gear.. Look into Eclipse (their nav units are the same UI as Lexus) Lexus contracted them provide the software for Lexus NAV systems..

Link to Eclipse -- http://www.eclipse-web.com/us/index.html

Enjoy!

I went with a Kenwood DNX5160. It's a great unit especially since it has Garmin Nav built in.

Does it take a long time to boot up? I almost went with that one...

I am thinking of changing my non-nav OE headunit (Pioneer) for a double DIN aftermarket unit.

Do I have to change the OE amps in the process?
