2001 gs430: I've got a predicament
So I recently sold my 98 es300, and I'm now in the market for an 01+ gs300/430. I've got a tight budget as I'm a freshman in college and I pay for basically everything except for rent at home (the car, gas, insurance, repairs, food, etc.). I've been looking mainly at 01+ gs300s because they are closer to my budget then the 430s, and I have searched everywhere in a 100 mile radius or so only to find that they are pretty hefty priced...
I found a deal on an 01 gs430 last night though with 139k miles(low for me, coming from cars with over 150k), 2 owners, clean title, very clean exterior and interior, and priced in my budget. There is one catch though... it's beige. Being only 19 years old.. I don't want to buy an old man looking car. The price would completely drain my car fund so I wouldn't have enough for a paint job.. but I still haven't decided if the paint bothers me enough not to buy the car. It has been hard enough to find gs300s so seeing this gs430 got me a bit excited. I need some opinions on whether or not I should go for it. Maybe some inspirational pictures of some nice beige second gen gs's?
Looking to pay 8000 walk out.

I like pretty much any car in beige. Its a very neutral color and maintenance is a breeze. It doesn't show much dirt. Who said its an old man color?? If I was to choose black, white, silver or beige, I would choose beige. Its kinda hard to find one in the color.

I totally understand your pain on finding a GS in Ga. I had to drive nearly 3 hours to pick up mine a few months ago and I didn't even get a 400/430 like I wanted. Just search craigslist/autotrader. As a matter of fact I saw a black GS400 in Woodstock go for under 8 right when I bought my car.

I'd pass on the color. Mine GS4 is the same color, and I regret it. I am changing out the tan interior for black interior in the hopes of changing the way I feel about getting rid of it, but then I've had it for almost 9 years.
WAIT for the color that you really want. It's like losing weight. It sucks now, but afterwards you'll be glad that you did.
