Default Help Please Battery Draining!!

A couple of days ago I took my car to the wash and I popped the hood and DE greased the engine bay and cleaned it up. Everything was good until the next morning until I tried to turn it on and the battery was completely dead. I jump started it and didn't think any thing off it.. the next morning the same thing. I jump started it and took it to the auto parts store and had them check the battery and everything else. Battery came out good. Starter came out good. Alternator came out good. BUT there was a 37.92a Drain. What could this be??

parasitic drains are a pain... time to break out a tester and start poking around the the fuses and relays...

try a volt meter and check the alternator once more while its running. if you get a constant 14 then you know for sure its not the alternator (most expensive). I would check where you "degreased" i remember when i first used the grease on my first car a few years back for the terminals some of it got inside of the connector & terminal post before i tightened the screw and the grease prevented the car from starting. after i wiped down the terminal post/connectors it was fine once again.

reason i say check it yourself is when i brought my car to autozone. there were 4 guys there and not one of them knew how to get a voltmeter and check. instead they hauled this giant box out and drained my battery completely and all 3 stood there scratching their heads like uhh. we can jump start it for you sir.

37 Amp draw is no kidding... Open the fuse box and disconnect some of the high amperage fuses and use an amp meter or DMM and connect it in series with the battery on the negative side and check to see if the amp drops when you disconnect the fuses. Which ever you disconnect drops the amps, that's the culprit.

did you put water in the Bay? MazdaFlash had a problem similar to yours. he took his car to get it detailed, they put degreaser in the engine and put a hose to the *****, wetting all his **** including electrical components, fuses, relays etc. He had problems for a long time. im not sure if he resolved it, but might be a good idea to PM him, since he hasnt posted much since he was getting out lexus's.

hey try using a test light or voltmeter and place it between the neg post and the neg battery cable. * disconnect the neg cable from the neg terminal from the battery. if ther's a light thur the test light or a tone from ohms on the meter, start pulling fuses till the light or noise disappears. light/noise = a parasitic drain. keep pulling the fuses tillit goes away to isloate the issue. then check the related fuse and componets for anything irregular.
