Default Reading codes on JDM Aristo (2jzgte)

Hi,

Does anyone know how to read codes on the Aristo V300? It has an OBDII port but uses JOBD. The bluetooth adapter (ELM) should work but unsuccessful with using this guide: http://www.2jzgarage.com/2013/01/2jz...d-information/

If you are using a compatible scanner and can't get it to communicate, start by checking fuses. I get cars in for diagnosis sometimes and have to find the blown fuse for the DLC before I can even pull codes.

I was able to previously connect with the ELM327 and torque app but unable to now. Since then I changed phones and I think something with the settings to make it connect to the JDM ecu are not right... or maybe something changed with the torque app?

The settings I use is called KWP Toyota but I recall KWP ISO 14230 to also work.
This is pre facelift Aristo. The ones with the smaller logo on steering and less airbags.
In the link you posted, the guy explained how to change settings. I never tried it but are your LEDs flashing when
you plug in Elm indication you r getting power? Remember there is Torque Pro also.

yes it lights up and flashes and connected to the app, but it can't read the codes. So i think its just the matter of putting in the right settings.

For anyone coming across this thread and not having any luck with odb2 Bluetooth devices... I found the type that works for me (after no luck with a few different models)
Elm327 1.5
with chip "pic18f25k80" (must have this chip)
also states "double board"

Also torquepro app has Aristo as an option in setting now
