Its hard to say. Offset has nothing to do really with brake caliper clearance. It's a matter of how thick the back pad of the wheel. Take for example if you have a wheel with no lip at all you would have large wheel clearance. but lets say it has a deep lip then chances of the pad being smaller are quite high. Just out of curiosity what wheel is it, that would definitely help determine the clearance
Take for example if you have a 3piece JDM wheel and you have the choice of 9j +35 (High Disk) and 9j +25 (Low Disk). Even thought the lower offset sticks out more than the higher offset the higher offset would have more brake clearance because its a "high disk"
But anyways , all that put aside the lower the offset generally has more brake clearance if they are cast 1 piece wheels so I dont see it being a problem

Wheel offset determines how far in or how far out a wheel will will sit on a vehicle.
So take for example if a wheel has a 0 offset this means the mounting area of the wheel is smack dab in the middle of the width of the wheel.
If the wheel is +30 this means the mounting point is 30mm closer to the front of the wheel. making the wheel sink in 30mm closer to the suspension of the vehicle and giver 30mm more clearance to the fender compared to the wheel with the 0 offset
a negative offset would have the exact opposite effect. So a -30 would mean the mounting point is now 30mm closer to the back of the wheel pushing the wheel out 30mm more than the 0 offset and 60mm more than the +30 offset
Without any pulling, if you roll the fronts and cut the lip on the rear quarter panel you can go as wide as 11.5" maybe even 12" in the rear and abour 9.5" maybe 10" front. These will most likely be custom 3piece wheels with custom offsets. This is not something you're going to find on anyone's shelves just sitting there. But its not a cut and dry answer you really need to study and know what you're doing in order to find your answer. you need to know what size tire you're going to run and how much camber you need. You'll need to know what size if you stretch or if you dont. There are many variables.

Thanks for the help, it makes much more sense now. I guess I am a visual person and it would be clear to me if I could mess around with different offsets and see how they fit.

Help Me
I got my hands on a set of SSR GT3 19in 19x8.5 and rear 19x9.5 for a great deal. Problem is bolt pattern is 5x120 and the gs is 5x114. The rear tire is 265-30-19. Could i get these to work with adapters or just sell?

If you are really stuck on keeping these wheels I would have custom adapters made. I would make it 25mm thick with the inner hub bore of 60.06 (for Toyota Lexus) and the out hub bore 72.56 (Which is most likely the bore size of the SSR which is also the same bore size as BMW) This would give you a pretty flush setup without going crazy on the fenders. But you will need to roll the fronts and roll/cut the rear
There is a company I've dealt with in the past who can custom fabricate any size spacer/adapter for you and their quality is VERY good. Their website is www.wheelspacers.ca. They are probably about 200-$250 for a pair. So look at spending up to $500. Here is the details you'll need to give them
Width = 25mm (Recommended)
Inner Hub Bore = 60.06 (60.1)
Outer Hub Bore = 72.56 (72.6)
Car Bolt Pattern = 5x114.3 (5x4.5) (Acorn seat)
Wheel Bolt Pattern = 5x120
Stud Thread Pitch = 12x1.5

hey guys... i have searched for hrs looking for ans... no avail! i have 2000 gs300 put 20" bella's on it and just did tanabe springs and kyb g2 drop..... about 1.5 drop .... back has stereo weight and is lower than front already... here are my 2 questions???? 1.can i do 30mm rca in front to level it out and not mess up camber??? 2. how can the fender be lower than top of tire and still turn?????

Maybe a chart to show what offsets will work with no fender mods, with only rolling, with rolling/cutting, etc...

its not silly 
their suppose to lower it so you can raise your coilovers but being on springs itll just lower it and add some camber. my front rcas didnt do much for camber to be honest. im thinking of taking them out.

Well my auto x and road race setup is a little wonky:
17X9 + 24 255/40
17X10 + 20 275/40
No rub front or rear lowered on tein flex, stock camber, and it rides good still!

looking into buying some trafficstar str wheels for my 2000 gs300.. was wondering whats the most aggressive offset i can put without pulling the fenders out?.. i already have the front and rear rolled.. looking to get 20x9 in the front and 20x10.5 in the back
