There has been a quite a run on the remaining Nokia 6310i phones as supplies run out. The Nokia 6310i was one of the first Bluetooh GSM "world" phones available in the U.S. and it was also the first and for a while only phone that was sanctioned by Lexus for the 2004 LS430 Bluetooth system. Service for the 2003 Lexus phone was only through Cingular/AT&T instead of through Sprint which was the supplier for the 2002 Lexus phone system. The parting of Lexus and Sprint was not cordial to say the least.

The dealer installed Lexus phone system for 2003 was largely based on the Nokia CARK-91 car kit like the ones we still use with similar Nokia 6340i phones in our 98 Camry and 00 LS400. Supplies of the Nokia 6340i are also running out. The 6340i was different than the 6310i in that it also supported analog and TDMA and could connect to other devices through an Infrared connection instead of Bluetooth.

If you just want a phone that will fit in the 2003 Lexus phone system cradle, many Nokia older phones will fit but many are analog/TDMA only and will no longer function on networks in the U.S. Only the 6310i can upload its address book to Lexus phone system and work with the steering wheel control module.

If you have T-Mobile or AT&T and have a phone that uses a standard SIM card, you should be able to pop your SIM card into an unlocked 6310i or one locked to AT&T and it should work with the 2003 Lexus phone system. As of today, there are a number of brand new 6310i phones on eBay.
