Default 98 GS400 battery light and vcs light on

I just replaced the battery and alternator and now my battey, vcs /vcs off light is on. I had my alternator rebuilt by a repradable alternator/starter rebuilder. after I finished installing and started my GS and checked to see if it was charging ok. I was charging at 14.5 volts. When I took it for a test drive the battery light came on and then went off. I noticed when I accelerated it came on and when i came to a stop it would turn off. After 5 min of driving the VCS / VCS off light comes on and stays on. Now both lights are on. however the battery light still goes on and off.

Did you get your alternator built to have a higher output then normal?

Standard voltage is 13.2-14.8 V. When you accelerate the voltage may be getting higher then the normal 14.8 V cap and therefore setting off the Battery light. When you slow down the voltage is prob dropping to 14.5 which is in spec so the light goes out.

No, I just had them rebuild to factory specs... is the causing the vsc light come on? I guess it possible they beefed it up a little.

Great news... I took the alternator back to rebuild people and the checked it out and it had a defective regulator. They replaced it. I reinstalled the alternator and it works perfectly. Thank you all for your input!!!!
