Default What to do first? Antique Bronze Mica GS400

I just recently picked up a '98 GS400 that i am IN LOVE with

The only thing im unsure about is the color (Antique Bronze Mica). Its been growing on me but im still unsure whether i want to get it repainted ($3500) which im unsure if ill even have the money for, or to put the money into awesome upgrades for the car.

So ClubLexus community give me some ideas as to what to do to the GS!

I say you wait. Get body parts if you plan on it, and then once you have everything, paint it all at once.

I'd say first thing to do is resize that picture then paint it SILVER

I would not paint that car!! Its unique, but definitely not ugly. And $3,500 for paint? You could do a TON with $3,500, man. Wheels, a drop, and tint are the first priorities!

i know its not ugly, its just an unusual color and im unsure how i feel about it. Also, i feel like if i do put a lip/kit or anything on it it is going to look bad because of the color. I havent really seen any ABM cars with any body kits and i feel like something simple like a TTE lip isnt even going to look right. UGH.

As for a drop, my driveway where the car resides has a 45 degree approach that i doubt id be able to clear if the car was lowered at all. Hmm, maybe with L-tuned springs i might make it

I think some 19" bronze volks and a drop would look sick on that color, that's what i'd do at least

I say skip the paint, and do a THOROUGH job detailing the paint, including claying, polishing, and then sealing. This color paint really looks nice when it's prepped well.

It will save you $3500 that you can apply towards upgrades -- which will make you feel even better about skipping the paint job!

Very well said. First do all your maintenance. Then I would do Daizen steering rack, sway bar, and caster arm bushings,(including ball joints and outer tie rods) tint, Eibach Pro-Kit springs, KYB GR-2 struts,(wait 3 days then align) delete resonators on exhaust, GS430 tips, 18'' wheels and tires, factory spoiler paint matched, and last but not least a complete detail. But that's me. The car will look alot better and handle and feel better as well. FYI this is the rarest color available for the 2GS and it rapidly grows on most people including myself.http://www.carccessory.com/detail.as...xus_GS400_1672 A great price, paint job, and quality. It's a UCI!

Hey just curious what you paid. I paid $5900 for my 98 in October from the original owner with 130k on it in pretty damn good shape. I flew to Arizona and drove it back to Idaho, after stopping in Vegas a couple nights that is. Hell I took my wife and my 1 1/2 year old son, it was a fun trip.

I say keep it that color and mod it like DeezyLF. With the right mods, you can make it work. Just do some research and plan it out.
