Default heated seats to non heated seats ? for 2GS

ok. sorry guys. i dont really know where to post this.

i have an 2002 lexus gs300 and i dont have heated seats.

i have just purchased an 00 gs300 and its same color interior and has heated seats but the leather arent in great condition. i am going to sell this car.

so i am wondering if i can get this seat re-upholstery with custom design and put it in my 02 gs300 with no heated seats. is it plug and play? i kno i need the center console from the 00 which is find. would the heated seats be functional in my 02 gs3 also? let me know i would like heated seats in the 02 =]

My GS3 doesn't have heated seats. But when I removed the center console I noticed an unused connector right beneath where the switch is supposed to be.

I'm wondering if the seats are 100% the same between a heated and non-heated GS. It's just the switch that is needed to make it work. In other words, all GS would come with heated seats, but some just don't have the switch to activate them.

Can someone confirm?

All GS are wired for heated seats. I put heated seats into a gs that didn't come with them and connected the switch to a center console wood panel with the heated seat switches and they heated up. The connectors for the harness under the seats fit either heated or non heated seats. It's just a different pin on the harness I think.

So in short, it works!

There must be a separate fuse in the fusebox somewhere for heated seats. Does anyone know which fuse it would be, and the location?

It'll probably be in the drivers' side fuse box, behind the parking brake pedal. If you don't have heated seats, it'll probably be an empty location. I'll check tonight when I get home.

I really hope by getting the switch and the fuse, I'll be able to have heated seats. *crosses fingers*

Edit: Oh I get it, all GS are pre-wired for heated seats, but the seats are they all wired also or not?

Edit2: I guess I found my answer: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-question.html

So if the seats are wired you only have to put in the switch.

Is is that simple??

Yeah I'm guessing that IF the seats are wired, then you just need the switch and maybe the fuse(s).

Chances are the seats are not wired though... how to check this?

You just need to make sure the seats are heated and all you need is the switch and it will work. The plug for heated and non heated seats appears to be the same. My kit is from Shine.

I just bought the shifter panel with the wood and all the switches (snow, seat heating, vsc). It's for a RHD car, but I just need the heat switches.

As soon as I get the part, I'll check if my non-heated seats are heated.

Dont know how far you got into takeing them apart but here is what the heater + plugs look like for the heat pad. This is also from a actual JDM RHD seats which is only one side heated. (That is also up for sale HERE ) While you are at it throw in a massager. There is a company that sales a kit to do so.
