It's seems stupid to me as well, I'd be frustrated if I was in your place! It really is a neat feature, from time to time I'm not sure if all my windows or moon-roof are closed, so I just hit the "close" button on the remote, hold it for a little, and that's it!

Thank you Silos5 for posting this video up, and hooking me up with the power tools bro! Appreciate it!
I will eventually replace this video with a better one...

Hey YviE!
The extra holes don't to ****** but build up more tension between two metal "string" meaning that "they" always want to open, thus pushing the trunk up. The factory tension is low, but can be regulated, as you can see in the video there are three positions, I bet a few know of this. But it still isn't enough to make the trunk open all the way up, hence I drilled an extra hole to help the process a little
I admit it looks kinda ghetto

Just two pictures I took last night

This one shows how bright these puddle lights really are. I used slower shutter speed to really show the color, but as you can see the bottom of the car is still dark, but the area which is illuminated by these puddle led lights is bright indeed!

Just a pic to show you how I mainly ride my GS daily.
BTW lucky us, we don't have to re-wire anything to make the fog lights work without low-beams.
(If I'm not mistaken you do have to rewire the fogs wiring right? )

Oh I get it. It's like adjusting adjustable sway bars.

So I guess I only have to make that 3rd hole and I should be fine.

Mmmh I'm thinking that they rewire the fogs so that you can run them without turning on the parking lights. Which would be our case too.

Well I'm jealous of you not having fugly antenna in the back and no "turning-lights" on the fenders. Although you do have "strange" looking lights on the sides of the front bumper, I'm sure most of USDM members are not really into it

And you're bang on, regarding wet sanding, I should do it, but the weather here in Tallinn starts to worsen with every day

In this one I show how the inner lights now work as fully functional stop lights, copying how it works and looks on USDM GS.

Here is a picture of the inside cabin button I press to turn on the rear fog-lights.

Mentioned inside cabin button only works when this inside trunk (added) switch is in the fog-light position. If it's not the inner lights work as stop lights. Here is a crappy pic of the switch and the wires I had to add to make all of this work.

Here is a picture of the extra (white) wire I had to run to the inner lights to make them work as "running" lights also.

And a couple of videos of the freshly installed led mirror covers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwzH31y2c74

The last video is something that I think USDM GS can't do due to as I suppose safety regulations. I mean the "close" part

thread from the dead....anyone have a tutorial or instructions on how to do the wiring? thanks

And i would love to have some extra information as well! I found the right wire and even a plug to make it happen but i think i need a diode because when the fog lights are used the braking lights will go on as well.

Hope to get some info about this.
