I say about $300-400 sounds right. Assuming the pull the bumper off, tear it down, and sand down the entire thing, before paint.

Yikes 400-500 is the price of 2 bumpers (if you provide the paint) from around where i'm at, and they do pretty good jobs,

is it better or cheaper to remove the bumper yourself and just take it to a body shop?

Kois718...Where in NY are you and which shop is that...better yet how is the quality of there work...If price isn't crazy might flirt with the idea of redoing my 98 GS300 Pearl white... And that $350 might be about right they quoted me in CT $1000 for Body kit,( 4 pieces )

I was quoted $300 for a rear bumper for just a repaint, no repairs in NJ.

Does the paint match up pretty good when you repainted yours? I know it probably wont be a perfect match up.

In Phoenix runs about $200.00. I have used the same guy several times and he does great work. If its a new cover, you have to install yourself.
