Default Help please rough idle with hesitation

I have a 1999 GS 400 with 175,000 miles on it. Two months ago I noticed that sometimes my car would idle rough when in park, going in reverse, or putting the car in drive. It felt like the car would jerk a little but when in driving it was normal. So I decided to change the spark plugs. After changing the spark plugs that day it drove fine and seemed to have all of its power. Later that night I was driving the car at 50 mph when it dropped down to 30mph and wouldnt go any faster. So now when I go to crank the car up it idles rough and yesterday I drove it and it started to idle rough then the VSC and CEL light started flashing on and off. So I reset the ecu and the car went back to normal, but it still has the occasional rough idle. Oh yeah when I say rough idle I meant to include that the car is misfiring. Can anyone please lend me some ideas before I go spend my money at the dealership.

Seafoam and fill up with some good gas. I had this just happen to me. You got some water in your gas. I thought it was something real bad and I did this and now runs great again.

How about reading your codes.

Or are we playing a guessing game? ok I'll play... replace your muffler bearings, yours are bad.

The 0300 is a general misfiring code, 0301 is in cylinder one.

As you probably know there is no distributor but there are coils pack, each firing one cylinder.
It is possible that the #1 coil is giving you the problem.

Locate the #1 coil and make sure all the connectors are on tight and wires are intact, then try swapping it with #2 to see if the code moves to p0302 or stays.

It could be as simple as a bad coil pack.

Good luck...

At about $90+ each per Ignition Coil, I would not replace all 8.
Trouble-T has said he replaced his plugs and there are no plug wires in a 1998 1uz-fe.
My reference to wires was referring to the wiring harness that goes to the coil.

Default Help Please Hesitation With Rough Idle

Okay so I dropped the car off at Toyota last friday so they could diagnose the problem. The results were a misfire on cylinder one and they said the coil was bad. So I ordered the coil and put it in the car saturday. 5 days later im driving to school and the car starts backfiring again and would not let me accelerate quickly. So I stopped by advance and the code pulled was PO301 which means cylinder one misfire. After getting the code pulled I struggled to make my way to Toyota to drop the car off. I dont know what else to do I replaced the spark plugs, and the coil. Can anyone verify that cylinder one is located on the front driverside of the car because the guy at toyota told me it was on the passenger, but lexus and the internet said that it was on the driver side. Please help me if you can!!!!

Passenger side from the front 2-4-6-8.
Drivers side from the front 1-3-5-7.

Did they give you the old coil?

Well I'm sorry to tell you this but if one of them is going bad the others have been carrying it's weight for a little bit so to prevent you from having to go back and forth it would be best to change them all.

Default Old Coil

Yea I have the old coil. I installed new plugs and the coil the only thing left is the harness. Toyota called today and said that the coil may have not been seated on the spark plug well and the harness is not snug, but he said they will let me know something by today.

Default Rough Misfire

Well I got the car back 3 days ago it was running great. Today while driving the car started to run rough and wouldnt let me accelerate. Checked the codes again and it still reads misfire on cylinder one po301. The plugs are new, coil is replaced and harness is secure. Im running out of solutions and Toyota isnt looking reliable right now.
