Default Steering Wheel annoying Squeaking

Howdy Gang,

I get a faint but annoying squeaking noise when turning the wheel. Seems to be coming from the collumn. Any thoughts on how to silence this?

Is it cold outside where you live?
Mine squeaks as well, but only when it's really cold, like -20 degrees. (Sorry I'm from Europe no Fahrenheit here )

Take the plastic off the column, get under there, and grease the gears.

Could it be that the power steering fluid is low or dirty?

give me a day or so and i will post a video of this exact noise i had, i kept thinking it was coming from my steering wheel so i pulled the steering wheel (ripped the srs plug and had to re-solder it in) and lubed it all up and put it back together and still was squeaking.

FYI its coming from the area on the ground where the steering wheel comes into the car, some white lithuim grease clears it up

again give me a day or so to upload the video (im really behind on my files)

if u look closely at pic u will notice i ripped my SRS plug off, had to splice it open and re-solder it (good as new now)

anyways it turned out to be the linkage coming into the car, there is a bushing on the floor. spray or rub some white lithuim grease on it and it will go away. mine hasnt been back since

no pics...just open door and bend down look where the steering column comes into the car behind the pedals you'll see a bushing there

lol just bought a 03 camry SE that has the same steering wheel as my 01 GS and it makes this noise too, i thought it was the steering wheel rubbing the column, but i'll check into what you said Sakataj
