door ajar dash light on.
99 gs400
hi guys, thanks for having you guys . first of all ill give my experience so it would help others and then ill put my problem down
1- had my abs,vsc light on but didnt want to go to the stealership. i finally jacked up the car and noticed that both sensor cables( running through the fender down to the wheel ) were severed. i taped them together and both lights went off and i regained my abs
2- i had an engine light on and didnt want to go to the stealership. i read the code and it said evap malfunction. i opened the hood and noticed a small pipe by the right side of the engine with a green tag. i looked at it and saw it was broken, i glued it together with super glue and taped it. the light went off after 1 mile and i was able to do my smog.
3- if you own a second gen gs- all windows and roof will lock if you hold the key in the lock position from the drivers side. all windows and roof will open if you hold the door open button down(remote) for 3 seconds.
4- if you reverse the battery head, your car will lock up. most things wont function including your gears. all you need to do is open the hood and locate the fuse( huge fuse by the left side of the engine and replace it.(cost- 45 bucks).
in all,the stealership quoted seventeen hundred dollars to fix these problems.
now for my problem..i was trying to change my door courtesy lights and i think it shorted and went off. since then , my left door lights wont come on when opened and door ajar dash lights remain on as if my door is still open even when they r closed. it dings when i drive and i was forced to turn off all dome connections so i dont reck my battery. please someone help me figure this out because all my fuses are working and i have exhusted all known clues in my head
