I don't like those adjustable bars because they don't reduce torsion or twist.

I would only use the TRD brace on the GS, personally.

I would buy the TRD if I could afford it, but this will do for now
but here's mine....

OEM JZS147 bolts right up.
I just cleaned it up a bit.

Sorry for the ignorance and not knowing anything about strutbars but shouldnt they all perform the same function, they all bolt down to tighten up the suspension?

They are meant to reduce body roll. So the better quality item you buy, the better it should perform. But hey, to each his own. Buy it and try it out. I personally use Tein.

You have a GS400...so this may clear your engine cover.

Personally, I'd get an stb that is thicker.

Maybe that's not the best way to phrase it... body roll is controlled by the suspension, specifically the anti-sway bars. Chassis braces do exactly that - they stiffen the chassis. The more rigid you can make the car, the better job the suspension can do.

The OE front chassis/strut tower bars on cars like my MR2 are rigid and non-adjustable. The adjustable bars can only resist compression or tension. The rigid bars can control the twisting forces of one strut tower relative to the other.

Good question . I've always wondered about these generic type of strut bars, usually found on ebay.
