Argh! I changed my snow tires on and now the wandering is almost unbearable again. At higher speeds I have to steer the car all the time. It was much more stable with wider tires. I bought this car from Germany and at the time I didn't notice anything special. When I got back to Finland it was obvious. Germans have a lot smoother roads than we do. I'm so pissed that I might change the caster arm bushings...

I'll try to get some soon.

i had this problem ended being my steering rack. rack wasnt leaking but had excess wear at the main shaft probably from being so low.

I have this issue too and my car only has 60k on it.. No wear at all, staring at the bag of daizen bushings in the corner for a month now..They scare me. Might get pissed off enough to change them...Sooon...

It's not just hanging, it's bolted to the brake pedal support frame. The "strap" is is a very thick piece of metal, so the steering axle doesn't move at all when you grab it.

Brian, did you ever install the strap? I wouldn't mind using something a little more durable than zip ties.

no, you know me always busy and always behind....plus im waiting to see what FIGS solid steering rack bushings do for us (it should be coming up on close to being done in the next week or two i think)

the "zip ties" i use are industrial ones for HVAC

they have a Tensile Strength of 175lb so they should be more than adequate.

the bearing idea looks real good. just gotta find the correct ID to fit the shaft... n then remove everything so u can press/slide it on lol
