Default Spark Plugs: Denso vs. NGK Iridium

I'm currently running NGK Iridium spark plugs since 80k miles and they've ran great. It's time to replace them again. I went with NGK because they're cheaper, but I've always wonder what the difference is, and which is better. Does anyone know?

If you get the Long Life Denso Iridium, it last 100k. If you get NGK, they only last 30k. Denso Iridium also has a high performance one, which only last 30k also.

NGK offers long life iridiums also. Both companies make 2 different iridium plugs for our cars.

In fact they are both spark plug suppliers for Toyota. When I order OEM plugs, sometimes I get Denso, other times I get NGK.

i would go with denso just for a peace of mind. since i know they are oem and they last 100k. dont think NGK is better than oem denso in anyway.

That is true. Denso and NGK are OEMs for our cars. But fact, Denso is listed #1 choice for OEM and NGK is #2. According to ALLDATA.

From what I heard, Toyota = Denso for OEM and Honda = NGK for OEM.

Denso have both Long Life and High Performance. Gotta becareful when ordering. The IK16 is the performance one and SK20R11 is the LongLife.

How about neither? I'm on my 2nd set of torquemasters, and the first set really didn't look that bad after 100k.

I replaced by original sparkplugs with TM's at 60K and haven't had a hiccup and am at 90K currently. I probably won't change them until my 120K service.

I’ve always used NGK Iridiums. I’ve used them on my SC300, LS430, GX470, and ES300 without any issues. You can never go wrong with Denso though.

And here’s the old plugs after 50,000 Km (48 months), took about 30 minutes, even after fiddling with my spark socket cause I lost the little rubber thingy inside that holds the plug, and talking with a neighbour about my amazing mechanical skills by risking doing such a intricate engine service, lol.

Shouldn't there be 6 of them?
