Default Gauges/Dash lights don't work 1998 GS300

I hadn't started the car in a few weeks and the battery was dead. I jump started the vehicle and once I got in it, the dash lights didn't come on. When I looked closer, I realized that the gauges weren't working either such as RPM, speedo, temp, fuel, etc. What could this be? A friend told me it could be a fuse?? Where would this fuse be located??

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I am having the same problem. This is my problem from a post I made:

"Help! After immediately changing my battery, my dash lights no longer worked. When the head lights are turned on (not auto), the dash lights go completely dark; however, when the head lights are in auto the lights are very dim. I am thinking this is some kind of relay. Last my dash lights in auto are bright during the day and dim at night and completely dark when in the "on" position. Anyway, someone please englighted me. I have a 1999 GS 300."

I had this same problem after I disconnected the battery in order to reset the computer.

It's a common thing in Lexus vehicles for some reason.

I found something online that described this issue - and it said to disconnect the battery for another 30mins to completely reset the computer.

I did this - and PRESTO - everything works 100% when I reconnect the battery.

Try this - you should be happily surprised.
