Thanks for the welcome everyone! I will get some pictures up soon, when I can find the time to get outside a take some!
I have already stumbled upon some very informative posts here. I do my best to use the Search function first!
@ werewolf - I have been able to reproduce the problem. From a dead stop, if you try to go WOT, it just kind of sputters as if it has no power at all. Same thing when you are cruising on the highway. I won't even attempt to try a hard acceleration to get over into traffic because the car feels like its choking, lack or fuel or air or something, won't downshift. Other than that, the car drives just fine, no rough idling, no transmission slipping, etc.
So, first plan is to reset the ECU while cleaning the MAF sensor with cleaner and running a can of Chevron Techron through the tank once we burn out the fuel that's in the tank now.
If those small cheap fixes don't resolve the issue, I'll probably move on to the spark plugs s I'm not sure yet the last time they were changed.
Question on the plugs. I looked under the hood for the first time last night. This car has coil packs on the plugs, correct? I have these on my M Special and they look to be the same. Those are so much easier to deal with IMO than wires and a distributor.
I've still got a lot to learn with this vehicle but this site should get me up to speed in no time! Thanks agin for the replies!
