Default Opinions needed 2003 GS 300 or 98 GS 300

Hey guys needed your opinions on this. I already own a 98 GS 400 in silver with about 83,000 i am looking to purchase another GS and get rid of mine. I narrowed it down to these two choices. They are both in better cosmetic condition than my GS and im looking to switch to something more cleaner. My preferred first choice in color is white and second is black. Which one do you guys think i should go for money isn't a big problem i can afford to get either as i will be selling my GS, i just want the better deal. Share your thoughts please. Much appreciated.

1) 98 GS 300 51,000 miles White http://newyork.craigslist.org/brx/cto/1294475999.html

2) 2003 GS 300 65,372 Black http://usedcars.kbb.com/detail/cars/...0475#kbbretail

tough choice, depends what your budget it. a few thousand is quite a difference. then again so is 5 years. if money wasn't a factor i'd go for the black/black

Thanks for the opinion. Yeah it is, I"m still here scratching my head on which to get. Its as if they are canceling each other out in terms of year, price and mileage. The 98 gs has less miles than the 2003 and is at a lower price. The 03 Gs is 5 years newer so should be less wear and tear. I initially wanted a white GS but don't really mind the black at all. I was going to get the 03 before seeing the 98 gs which threw me off as its my first choice in color, has lower miles and is cheaper. Only thing is its 5 years older.

If u plan on modding get the 98 and splurge like 3k to update the suspension to like new feeling.

Edit: Just looked at hte listing, the 98 even has 01+ tails already and HIDs, while the 03 does look to have HIDs....I'd go with the '98

Great point forgot to mention that it 98 did have the updated tail lights. I'm not into modding but what i would do though is change the rims to either 18 or 20 inch chromes with some lip for either one and on the 98 definitely the grill to 01 chrome grill or the kazz-sport grill.

So thats 1 for the 03 and 1 for the 98. Keep em coming guys. Thanks.

03/Sportdesign is a way better driving car than the 98/GS. That's coming from someone that had a 98/GS and now drives a 03/Sportdesign. You can't beat having HID'S already on the 03. The interior looks alot better with the wood and blk leather. Trust me it's like night an day! You need too test drive both. You'll see what I'm talking about. GL

Will take this into consideration. What are some other differences that you have noticed between the two being that you made that jump that i would make. Ahh yes the wood steering is a plus. Thanks

So far its a toss up between you guys like it is with me. 3 people for the white 98 and 4 for the black 03. Keep em coming guys.

I think this is a great point.

I assume money still is a factor, otherwise you'd be looking at new cars and not used.

If you're going to change up the suspension anyway to mod, take the 98 and apply the savings to the suspension upgrade. You'll probably need to replace some of the 98 suspension just to get back to OEM anyway. Looks like you've got some sweet rims/ tint and screens thrown in (if that appeals to you).
Cost for the 98 suspension work may cancel out price savings.

If you're ok with stock feel and look, just go with the 2003 is my opinion.
If you like the 98's mods and would do more mods anyway, go with the 98.

Im more of a stock person. The most i would really change are the rims, grill and maybe headlights. Not much of a modder or have the funds for that lol. opinion much appreciated.
