Haha, and I mean lift it, not destroying it haha!

Front:
The DIY thread says lift from straight under the car in the front on the cross member. There no way I can reach that. Is lifting from the railing on the sides ok? If it bends, is that not just cosmetic?



Rear: Where is the correct rear point to lift? Is it the BIG circle between the two rubber circles under the trunk?

only jack your car up from the side. it should be where the stock sideskirt and the chassis floorboard meets. there should be a railing there, and any bends is only cosmetic.

the front crossmember/subframe is the ideal point for the front, and the differential is the point for the rear (it is connected to the rear subframe). what i would do is jack up the car from one side, put a jackstand under it, and then go to the front/rear and then jack up the car from the subframe, and then put another jackstand on the other side just to even it out.

do not jack it up from under the trunk. you'll leave a giant dent inside your spare tire well.

Get some wood blocks to drive onto first. That should help.

drive it off a cliff, before you do put jackstands under the cliff goodluck. hahaha jk woodblocks should do it. your not that low.

look it up in your owners manual. but it should be where the outer-most puddle lights are.

oh and since your driveway is sloped, make sure you have a stopper planted so the car doesn't slide off the jack.

I jack mines up near the front and end of the sideskirts on the rail frames but the lower the car now its like the heavier it gets and its kinda bented up down there nobody wont know unless they look down there.

yeah i got some chokes to keep things in place. I actually had it up today, kinda. I lfited it by the spare wheel well, but the jack i have only goes 15" and all it did was dent teh well haha gahhh.

Instead of the differential and the crossmember can i just lift from the other side on the same spot?

here's what I do...

place one jack underneath tow hook and lift it enough to fit another jack on the side
slide jack on the side

just be careful when you put the car down not to go all the way down from the side.

im tired of doing this so i'll probably make ramps out of 2x4s.

Well, I'm just checking on double-checking where the correct points are? I've already lifted her before, but I can't see it being a bad thing to double check?

No because a burrito falling on you wont kill you, only give you a really bad case of the runs (which may make you wish you were dead in some cases).

Ok here, depending on what your trying to accomplish here, there are multiple places to jack up the car you just have to use your better judgment.

Front:

A) There are two tow hooks right underneath the front bumper.
B) Pinch welds running down the sides of the car depending on what type if jack you have.
C) Frame RAILS not the floorboards
D) Cross member

Rear points:

A) Rear tow hooks by the back bumper.
B) Differential
C) Pinch welds running down the side of the car (see notes on front)
D) Frame Rails.

If you can't get a real jack under any of those points use your factory jack on the pinch welds to lift the car up a little till you can get a decent jack in there, then use jackstands.

What exactly are you trying to do?

nothing serious, just trying to get the tires off so i can reach the coils and lower the back a bit more. My jack does fit(when im on wood planks) so i should be fine.
