Unhappy HELP!! Aftermarket Subwoofer Installation GS400

Hey everybody,
I'm new to the club and I have been looking all over the net trying to solve my problem. I have been trying to find some kind of a wiring diagram as to how to hook up aftermarket subs to the nakamichi stereo system. I don't know where to do it since the rear speakers are in the door, unlike most cars which are under the rear windshield. I'm sure it can be done by simply splicing into the wiring near the amp in the trunk, I just don't know which wires to use. The local shop in town wanted to charge $170 to do it, which is crazy. I know it can't be that much work. I have 2 JL Audio 12"s I'm trying to hook up, leaving all the rest of my factory stereo unmodified. If anyone has any ideas that can help I would really appreciate it,

Thanks

use a line output converter before the amp. there should be a power, ground, remote (maybe) and + and -

I'm not sure about the nakamichi system so don't hold me to it, just my thinking.

Welcome to CL, you want to push 2 12's with the factory amp? If this is the case, I'd reconsider. The factory amp isn't gonna be strong enough to get much out of them.

the factory amp barely hits the stock sub. and the stock sub is really not that big. you might as well get an after market doubl din nav and after market amp. unless you have oem nav, then in that case you kinda stuck

You definitely should get an aftermarket amp to power your subs, and an LOC (line output converter) to get the OEM headunit signal to RCA form to plug into the amp. Search "LOC" or "line output converter" in the audio section...you'll see a lot more there.
