Default Exhaust tips, need help

Hello everyone.

Sad story really, someone stole my original gs exhaust tips! Who would need 5 year old exhaust tips?

Anyways, I would like to purchase new ones. So i thought about them and did some searching but never found exactly what I was looking for.

Will the double Mercedes looking exhaust tips fit the GS? If so, does anyone know the model? What other tips look good on a Millennium Silver.

I think our size is 2.25 inlet. Is that correct?

Thanks
Gene

Not sure about your specific fitting question, but prob any muffler shop will just about install whatever tips you want for $30-$40 as long as you bring in the tips.

Hey, Gene. I have two Magnaflow tips for sale. The stock piping after the muffer is 2.25 inch. They look like the ones on my car; except they are 4.5inch instead of 7inch in length. The will not protrude out as much as the ones on my car now. However, it also depends on where you cut the stock piping at; to weld the new tips on. To elaborate, I cut my piping 6 inches from where the bumper is.

It will fit snuggly within the bumper exhaust openings. They may protrude slightly out from the bumper, if you would like it to (depends on cut and weld location).

Here are two pictures of my car for reference. They should look good on your stock mufflers. They will look exactly the same from the rear (straight-on).

I don't think the stock exhaust cutout is large enough to support a double tip.

I also run Magnaflow tips on my stock exhaust. Mine are straight cut (vs. whazzzzuup's angle cut).

You have lots of options. Search the 2GS forum for "Exhaust Tips" and check out the pictures. Once you find one you like find a Exhaust shop to put them on for you.

Borla tips FTW!! They fill in our rear bumper exhaust cutouts nicely for a clean OEM look.

Wow guys thanks for all the help.
whazzzzuup, those tips look really good on your car.
I think that I will be looking for longer ones too though because I want it to look good on the side as well.

sleeper408, I live the look of your GS. What kind of lip is that? I really like those borla tips too. I am looking into them now.

Has anyone every put dual tips on a GS?

Thanks. If you are talking about the rear lip spoiler, it is a SportDesign style.

And do you mean dual tips on each exhaust tip? So in essence, quad tips (total)?

Here's Bob's car. Please note that his rear bumper is aftermarket/custom. Fitting quad tips onto the stock GS rear bumper would probably require a bit of cutting of the exhaust cutouts and may not look that good.

Ah thats really nice!! I am really digging the looks on that. Did you have to do any final finishes to it so it can remain the same shine? Ive been wanting to do this but didnt know it would work or not.

Dara

BTW what grit you started and finished with?

The mufflers are steel; not aluminum. I only polished it that one time (over a year ago).
