GS400 cv axles
may be a dumb questions but ive looked around and cant seem to find the answer. I own a 98 gs400, my front driver side cv axle is leaking from the boot, and has a slight clunk to it. I am trying to find the replacement part and can only seem to find rears, no fronts. they look similar, and I dont see anywhere selling fronts. i guess my question is, are they the same (front and rears) and if not does anyone know where I can find front or would I be best off in a junk yard?

That is not a CV Axle leaking. That’s the rack and pinion leaking and it’s filled the bellow with atf, from the power steering system. You’re going to need to replace your steering rack. You could even go with a used one if your budget is really tight. It’s not difficult to do the replacement, make sure to flush out any of the old dirty fluid and I suggest adding an inline fluid filter and if you really want the P/S system to last forever, a cooler for the P/S fluid also.
