Transmission Solenoid C
My Gs300, has been getting flashing ECT lights on and off for a little while now. Lately it's been more on than off, so I headed of to my Local Lexus dealer who checked some codes for me ( for free! ) It has a Solenoid C error which they can't clear, sometimes it clears itself??
Before I bought the car it had it's 80,000kms service at a non Lexus workshop (first time it hadn't been serviced at Lexus). Well the workshop that did it were a bunch of jerks, they used the wrong..
Coolant (green!)
Brake Fluid (Dot 4!)
and transmission fluid..!!
So last night my buddy and I changed the Auto fluid to Type-4,
The coolant and brake fluid are also getting changed asap, but what my query is, has anyone change their Transmission Solenoid? How much did the part set you back? I think even with the Aussie dollar taking a massive dive against the U.S it may be cheaper ordering one from over in the States?? If anybody could give me a idea of who or where might be the place to get the part that would be awesome

Call up Carson Toyota and ask for Luis. Tell him you're from clublexus and he will give you a discount. I believe that part is $200-300 range. There are several solenoids in the transmission and I'm not 100% sure which one you're referring to so I can't give you the exact part number.
