help!!!!! i don't know what happened, but I parked my car and now it's locked in PARK and the abs light and brake light is on!!!!

i have a 2003 gs with no mods!

please help because i'm blocking like 6 cars and i don't know what to do!

i tried shifting into neutral to push the car from off, key in, key turned once, etc

the car turns on and everything i just can't do anything to move the shifter!

Right next to the shifter there is this 'override' thing you can pry out with a flat head. After that you can just use that flat head to press down on it and take it out of park. Hope it helps

please don't use a flat head. i believe your key is supposed to fit into that hole to the right of the shifter to unlock this! i think it has grooves made for your keys specifically (I'm sure someone will clarify this if I'm wrong and easily could be) but please don't go poking a flat head in there just yet in case it is made for the key! that way u dont damage ne of the grooves i think it has for your key.........ne1 wanna help me out and clarify or retort this?

I had to use a flat head because it already looked like the previous owner got in it with the key. It really doesn't matter what you use.

it does if its designed for the key to fit with grooves and all! then it def would matter!

keep us posted and let us know! ouch on the bill already! they gonna say u need a new master key, immobilizer or something crazy! silly stealership!

i had the same problem where my lights were on and i could not shift it to any gear without overriding it. i figure out that the brake fuse went out and that what caused it. check your all your fuses. hope that helps good luck
