i live in the bay area weather is always just normal not -10 or 100+
this car or all cars can drive in those conditions and thats when theres more wear on rubber parts in extreme temperatures or hard driving which is rarely done.. anyways i got my balljoints done because i could hear the popping and even when they came out they werent that that bad but that was a piece of mind i see my other cousins with 200k and he just got it done thats pushing it...
the other at 150k it should be done about now
heres some quotes i found
My buddy was at 150-160k miles before he did anything to the car. I was surprised to see the belt was still in okay condition.

144,000 miles before I did the full 90 k maintenance. at 142,000 miles I heard weird noises coming from the engine...a whining noise(is that spelled right?)

around 140K u are pushing it....

the noise was probably the tensioner bearing
anyways I probably will get it done when its just convienant and **** if the engine does blow GTE with a 6spd my dream lol

oh yah my accessory belts look good no cracks no wear so that should be a good indication

The point is not if the belt will last or not, but to estimate how many miles you are going to put into your car. If you're plannning on keeping your car up through when you're going to change the timing belt one time, might as well it sooner so you get to use the new part up. This is of course unless you see yourself keeping the car long enough so you will be doing 2 timingbelt changes.

I don't see the point of waiting till 150k miles, then are you going to put more than 150k more miles onto the new part?

Think of it this way, if you're planning to put 200k miles onto your car, might as well split the service at the 100k mark.
If it's a 98, and you're at 100k now, this will be in the year 2018!!! Gas will be $15/gallon and you will want to buy a GS490-F that gets 30mpg with 450hp.

if you're thinking you will be putting 250k miles onto your car, you could split it 125k/125k to make it perfectly even, but on the other hand you could split it at 100k/150k (since you're conviced the parts would last 150k anyway)., then maybe you will change your mind by 2021.

I sent you another email from a post a long time ago but not sure that you received it. What did you ever find out was the problem when your GS had the P0715 code?

Thanks Ron

Default wet sensor

it was the trans sensor, it had gotten wet in the heavy rains. To prevent it from happening again, my mechanic put some sealant around it. The sensor itslef is fine and the check engine light went away on its own.
