my car doesn't pull off the line...
My car doesn't pull very hard off the line and will never spin the tires. I've tried PWR mode, no VSC and reseting the ECU. Is this normal for a stock GS400?

what size/type of tires do you have? i think you should be able to spin the tires at will with the 400. you might wanna try applying a small amont of brakes just enough to keep you at a stop and rev engine to about 2600rpms and the release brakes and applymore to the gas with vsc off and pwr mode on of course.

No. Break torque or not, his 400 should be able to at LEAST chirp the tires coming off the line.
From what I've been told, the 400 "feels" like it pulls harder from the stop than a 430, and IMO, my 430 can pull pretty hard from a stop.
Can't say exactly what is up with your 400. I'm sure some of the more knowledgable members will chime in and perhaps point out what's wrong. But you shouldn't need to break torque to make your car move from the line. Just stomping on the gas and with WOT, your car should start hauling butt.

Im not sure if this goes for the 400 but i know with the 300 after 94 the gs starts of in second gear. people complained about a lux car pulling 2 hard for comfort. this could be the prob but with a lil brake i can get a little noise out the tires.

BTW, my car has been maintained very thoroughly. Then again, I do have the OEM tires in the back which are high performance tires so at least I'm getting traction

The car doesn't feel like something's broken. It just feels like the car takes a second to figure out what's going on and then it pulls hard. The second keeps it from spinning the tires. I appreciate all the responses.
Since te car starts off in 2nd, it doesn't seem possible to spin the tires. I'll try the MAF. Would that make much of a difference?
Isn't there something wrong with changing your transmission fluid in higer milage cars? My car has just over 150k. I probably shoudn't be hot-rodding it anyways.
Like I said, I just reset my ECU yesterday(pulled the ECU B 20A fuse overnight) and have been trying to drive somewhat aggressively since.
Thanks guys.

My car (GS400) pulls, but I cannot get it to spin off the line like my friend's GS300. I blame the OEM torque converter stall. Stall speed is 1800 RPM and the engine makes most of its power around 3200 RPM.

I did remember I was able to spin out easily when I had my K&N intake
