Default GS430 will not lock, need help

i just noticed this today, i tried to lock the car this morning using the keyless remote and only the rear driver door locked, i tried to press the lock key over and over and nothing changed, the driver, passenger, and rear passenger won't lock, i tried pressing the lock key on the driver door to lock the car, and same thing, i can hear it trying to lock but its not locking. i have to manually lock each door, has anyone had this problem, or anyone have any answers to fixing this. thanks

Default bad actuator

Welcome to the club, i think almost every member here have at one time or another have the same problem. The problem is the motor that drives the actuators to locked and unlocked has gone bad. You can get a new actuator which is like $215 a piece or go the junkyard or toyota dealer and get a 1998-2000 actuator motor and swap it out for like $50-80. No point gettng the lexus again since its going to go bad. hope that helps

Anyone have a side-by-side photo of the Lexus and the Toyota (Corolla?) actuators?

i just bought my used gs430 with the same problem. The dealer took care of it under warranty, if you're looking to go to the dealer, its about 400 for each door with labor.

i had a 00 GS300 and never had this problem, but my 99 RX300 is starting to exhibit signs of the actuator going bad. here are links for the RX that i found (i cant imagine the GS being much different):

heres the link

sure you have to read thru 15 pages, but its worth it. I bought 5 motors for 10 dollars which included shipping.

I saved myself $$$

I just did 3 of them a few weeks ago. I too bought the ebay motors (5 for $10). I also got the mini gear puller. Kind of time consuming but you save a bunch of money. Make sure you get the latch linkage put back right on the front actuators or you won't be able to open the door after it closes.
