Default Single or Dual Beam HID

I have a '00 gs300. I want to convert it over to HID/Xenon. I don't know anything about HID's or Xenon's or whatever they are. I just want the blue lights . I am just confused on what Single and Dual Beam is. Is Dual the top lights (main headlights) and the lower set of lights on the bumper and what is single beam just the top headlights? Also what do you think of the 12k's and what size should I get? I'd really appreciate any input on this...

If your just going for color you might as well just put these blue plastic covers over your existing bulbs lol...

For saying 12k on these forums you will get flammed big time.

The reason is...

Poor light output
Cause too much glare
Waste of money
etc.

Not sure where you got single beam / dual beam terminology from, all you need to worry about is the bulb size.

Just install a couple of 8000k HID kits for your lows and highs and buy a relay. The feeling I get from your post is that you have no mechanically inclined skills at all. So buy these kits from ebay then bring them to a caraudio shop and have them install them for you.
After you buy it now on ebay you need to email the seller with the email account that is linked up to ebay and let him know you want 9006 8000k...

You also need a relay if you want HID's in your foglights...

For reference here's a 8000K kit in the low beams and stock halogens on the bottom...

"mechanically inclined skills" aren't the problem. I just don't know much about HID/Xenon. Flame away, I like the 12K look, the others look too much like regular head lights. I got the Single/Dual terminology from every site I visited that sells HID/Xenon. This didn't help me much but I'll keep looking. Thanks though for your help and input a little more wouldn't hurt

I'm not positive if it has HID's in it or not. The light is like white and I checked the manual and there is no mention about what kind of lights they are just that the replacements have 'halogen' in them.

I've looked around though and from what I gathered some HID kits use halogen too for high beams or? I'm in the Metrowest area, It'd be great if you could help and to meet a local CL member.

Bi-xenon headlights mean the xenon (hid) bulb is used for both the low and hi beams. This is done by moving the bulb shield. It would take some rewiring to have this work on a GS and would definitely require a retrofit.

The hi beams in the GS are in separate housings so to have "bi-xenon" lights you would need to get two HID kits.

All said and done a HID kit in halogen housings will cause ALOT of glare to on-coming traffic and won't look that good.
