Default Refinished Wheels

Well my old wheels were looking shabby from tough Alaskan weather so I took them in for refinishing and new look. As you can see the clear was chipping and the metal was beginning to corrode. I took them in to a friend and had them all powder coated.

WOW! those look nice. They look brand new. What did that cost and were there any other finishes you could have chosen?

Thanks, he charged me $50 per wheel to do a solid color on the entire wheel. It would of been quite a bit more to tape and coat in multiple colors. He probalby had about 20-25 different finishes to choose from, this one is called GM gold with a extra dash of metalflake added.

Very nice, I just looked into getting my wheels re-finished and they told me that since they were one piece, they could only do chrome I guess I need to check with a few more places. My wheels are in perfect shape, no scratches, wear, or anything. I just wanted to try to have the lip done in high polish and the faces done in a standard polished finish. I'm going to be picking up some new wheels here shortly anyways, I was just hoping to mix it up in the mean time

Some shops do the chemical/electrical method, actually putting new chrome on, and you are limited to one finish that may be the kind of shop you spoke with. These are powder coated and multiple finishes are done by masking off the areas with high temp tape. The more complex the wheel design the more time consuming the taping becomes and time equals more money. To the other posters, once the new tires arrive, more pics will follow and thanks again for the compliments.
