Default Is the dealer the only one who can cut our keys?

I bought a master key off of eBay. I can do the programming myself. I just need it cut. I called the 3 local Atlanta Lexus dealers and they are giving me the runaround saying they only cut their keys? WTF!?

Does anyone know of a locksmith in Atlanta that can handle this? I searched, but didn't really come up with anything.

Well after calling a few dozen locksmiths, I finally found a guy that would do it. He charged 30.00 just to cut the mater key that I provided. Took him about 5 minutes. He was in some beat up van with a beat up key machine, but he got the job done. I purchased the blank master key off of eBay for 60.00. The key came with programming instructions. Took me about 5 minutes to program they key and it was a done deal. If anyone needs the info. in regards to the locksmith, let me know.

As far as programming, there are 2 different sections. There is the transponder portion of the programming so that car will start with the new key. Then there is the keyless entry portion to be able to lock/unlock your doors & trunk remotely.

For some reason, even the locksmith thought that he was the only one who could program the transponder .

Finding a locksmith a pain in the a$$ but I saved some moola so it was worth it.

Do a search for key programming instructions, if you can't find it then, I will post them.
