Factory hid lights
I have a 00' with halogen headlights. since i cant afford a retrofit would the oem hid headlight housings work with an aftermarket hid kit? and would the beam pattern be sharp and blind oncoming traffic? or better yet, would the oem headlights and hids work?

on ebay there are vendors that sell oem type ballasts (toyota slim ballasts) that have 9006 (or whatever else connector types you need) and they become completely plug and play.
the reflector housing on the GS is fine for HID's. other people have already stated why.

Here's one way you can check if you're blinding others. Borrow a buddy's car, and go into a parking lot. Park roughly a 2 car distance behind him. Sit in his car, and look in the rear view mirror. If you're being blinded, lower your lights with the screws located on the top left and right corners on your units with a socket wrench ( i think ? ), and lower them down.
Hope that helps

i had my wife drive behind me, from far and close AND different direction to check this.
My aftermarket HIDs on a NON HID halogen does not blind what so ever. Its just bright and doesnt go up/down like it does on projectors. Not blinding though and its not angled down.........
