Question Just wondering?.....

I have not yet seen a moonroof " wind deflector " on a GS4 yet.
So I was wondering if this is stupid or if no-one is putting this on for aerodynamic reasons or if most think this is stupid on a LexO'?
Just want honest opinions not a big bashing on my choice of putting this on my ride (it's not hard to take off). p.s. I am a fairly new member to CL (and loving it..!...) and have not posted yet. I just bought my ride (98' silver GS400) in September and have since put H&R springs on, bought new tires, done the DIY chrome grille (thanks 2SAVVY), waiting for my hyper intake to arrive and have babied the hell out of it. So I just want to say this car is simply amazing and I have never seen a club so helpful. I am proud to be a part of CL.......

Thanks for your time....

Also, I am thinking about purchasing a set of tein coilovers.
Does anyone know a good place to buy, and what the lowering specs are? ie: 0-?? inches i have looked all over the net and have come up short (lol).....

heya 98GS4_STL I should say a very nice Idea, made me think of this, What if it was smaller and with the same color of the car ??? you know the L sports line rear little wing over the rear window?

I think it would look more aerodynamic...

Grr miss comming to this site a lot when the hell will my car arrive

Cool

I have a moonroof wind deflector on my GS430. My Lexus dealer put it on my car before I bought it. It says Toyota on it so it is an original part. It is great when you open the Moon Roof because you don't get blown away. One problem when it rains and you are driving at speed you hear a low sound from the water moving off of the moonroof wind deflector. But to get rid of this noise all you have to do is close the inside panel cover and you don't hear it. Lots of people said they love the way it looks. Also when you wash the car you have to make sure you put your hose on the moonroof wind deflector otherwise some soap may not come out.

My personal opinion is that on almost all cars (and the GS is one of them) that moonroof wind deflectors look anywhere from kind of silly to downright ugly. They tend to break up the smooth lines of the roof and, in my experience, don't cut down on wind noise that much!

I would have to agree with Iceman and Francis. Not my thing. I think that it takes away from the sleekness of the car, IMO. But hey if you like the look, go for it.

All the wealthy people in my area are always asking where I bought the moonroof wind deflector on my GS430. When the dealer had it in the showroom with the moonroof wind deflector everyone kept coming up to the car. Believe it or not it gives the GS430 more class especially in Sunny Florida. It fits perfectly on the car.

98GS4_STL,

Glad I helped out on the grill.. As for the moonroof deflector I am with most that I personally don't think it looks nice on the GS.. I don't hate how it looks but it doesn't scream out to me as a must do mod..

As for your other question the Tein Coilovers are up to 3" of drop.. The HA series is cheaper than the CS version but the CS (Comfort Series) gives a more comfortable ride but is more money.. As for a place to buy I will let someone State side answer that for you.. Also look into the H&R Coilovers and there are a few more.. Just do a search on coilovers in the forum front page (Look in the right hand top section) for the search button..

Before I forget welcome to Club Lexus.. Becareful you will catch the MOD bug..

Thanks for the response...

It's nice to get other Lex owners opinions.
After a few months with the deflector on
I was starting to question the "look" it gives.
I am really starting to like the look of the rear
window deflector, but I am curious; does that affect
the spoilers performance ( if that makes any sense?! As my
moonroof deflector is probably aleady doing!).

As for the " MOD bug " its already bit me in the ....
I Just put my new Weapon R intake on tonite...
WOW! I love it already! Can't wait for coilovers.
I have H&R springs now but from what I've seen and read
coilovers are much more versatile ie: performance, adjustability,
stance and so on.....

Anyway, I'll shut up now.

I don't like them but that's just me (and a few others.) Might be useful for people who likes to drive with the moonroof open tho.

Right now the side windows reflectors are very popular in Japan. i don't get it
